Where guests write
A guest writes from their booking’s page, from the link in the email you send, or from their account. Each booking has one conversation.
Answering
Open Messages in the menu, under Guests. It opens on Needs reply: the conversations waiting for you. Pick one, write, and press Send. From a booking, press Message on its card.
What the guest gets
Your line appears on their booking’s page at once. If they have not read it within three minutes, they get one email with a button to reply.
Olio answers first
Where Olio is on, it answers the guest first. A question it cannot answer comes to Messages, and the guest can always press Ask the restaurant to write to you instead.
Alerts and tablets
Each device gets a push when a guest writes; switch it off on one device with Message alerts on this device, at the top of Messages. A Service tablet reads and answers, but never sees a guest’s email or phone number.
On Pro
On Pro and Enterprise, Draft a reply and Translate into … put Olio’s words in the box for you to change before you send. Message a sitting writes once to everyone booked at one time, each in their own conversation.
How long it is kept
A conversation is kept 24 months after the visit or its last message, and goes with the guest when you erase or export them.
