The guestlist by status: at the door, at their tables, then still to come.

By status or by time

The switch at the top of the list has two orders. By status sorts the night into three groups, Arrived, Seated and Upcoming, in that order, and leaves out a group with nobody in it. By time is one list, in the order of the bookings’ times.

In Arrived, parties are in the order they came in, and in Upcoming in the order of their times. Seated is in the order the tables are due back, so a table that should already be free comes first; when some tables are past their time, the heading says how many, in amber. Tap a group’s heading to fold it away, and again to open it.

What a row shows

  • The time of the booking, and under it the time the table is booked until.
  • The guest’s name, with a mark beside it: a green tick when the booking is confirmed, an amber question mark while you wait for an answer (never on Free, whose reminder asks nothing), a red one when the guest could not be reached: phone them.
  • Under the name, the guest’s request and seating needs, and on Pro and Enterprise their tags and food preferences. An allergy is a red strip under the row, on every plan.
  • The party size, the table with Move beside it, or Give a table when they have none, and the room.
  • The status, and under it the time that goes with it: how long the party has been sitting or waiting at the door, or how late they are. A table past its time says by how much, in amber.
  • Last, one button for the party’s next step.

One button for the next step

The button at the end of each row is what happens next to that party: Arrived when they come in, Seat when they sit down, Finished when they leave. A finished party leaves the live groups and folds away under Done.

Arrived and Seat appear from three hours before a booking’s time until four hours after it, so a party booked on another night cannot be greeted by mistake. Finished is there on any night, for tidying up the morning after.

After a tap, the row stays where it is and offers Undo for eight seconds. Every other step, from a cancellation to a no-show, is in the booking’s popup: see booking statuses.

Finished parties, folded away

Finished, cancelled and no-show bookings fold under Done at the foot of the list, with how many there are. Tap it to find a guest who has already left. While you search, it stays open.

When nobody else is expected, the list says so at the top. A day with no bookings at all offers Take a booking.

Open a booking

Tap a row anywhere but its buttons to open the booking’s popup: the guest, the table and the time, the notes and every step. See the booking popup.

Give a party another table

  1. Press Move beside the party’s table, or Give a table if they have none.
  2. A strip opens under the row with the tables that can take them at their time. The one that fits them best is marked best fit.
  3. Tap a table. If pacing is full at that time, the strip says so: tap the same table again to seat them anyway.
  4. To give up, press Stop moving.

Move is offered only to a party that has not arrived yet, whose table is not locked, and whose booking started less than four hours ago. For the other ways to move a booking, see moving a booking.

Press ⋯, then Print. The sheet is the same from any tab: your restaurant and the date, the number of parties and covers, then every booking of the day in time order, cancellations included, with its table, room and status. Allergies are printed in capitals inside the booking they belong to, and tables out of service are listed.

Good to know

  • Allergies show in red on every plan, Free included.
  • Each tablet keeps its own order: the bar can work By time while the host stand works By status.
  • A table out of service is not a party, so it is never a row here. It is on the floor map, the calendar and the printed sheet.
