The five steps
Press Start free on the ResOlio website. The bar at the top says which of the five steps you are on; it starts a fifth full and fills as you go. On a wide screen, the other half shows your restaurant as you build it.
- Your login: the email and the password your restaurant will sign in with, or a Google account.
- Your restaurant: its name and its country.
- Opening hours: the days and the times you take bookings.
- Floor map: the size of your room, and your tables drawn on a map.
- Your plan: Free, live at once, or a paid plan we switch on for you.
Your login
Type an email and a password, then press Continue. The password needs at least 8 characters, a number and a symbol; the list above the box ticks each one green as you type.
We then send a code to that email, to be sure it is yours. Type it under Check your email and press Confirm. If it does not arrive, press Send another code.
Or press Continue with Google: Google confirms the address, so there is no code. Your restaurant then signs in with that Google account, on every device.
Your restaurant
Type the restaurant’s name and choose its country. The country sets how guests’ phone numbers are read and the time zone your times are shown in; a line under the button names the zone.
Your page address writes itself from the name: it is the address of your booking page. Use letters, numbers and hyphens. If it is taken, adding your town often works.
Press Continue. Your restaurant now exists, and each step after this one is saved as you go.
Opening hours
Pick the closest of Dinner, Lunch & dinner and All day, then set the days and the First booking and Last booking times. Your hours are what make your page bookable.
If you close between lunch and dinner, press We close between lunch and dinner to give each its own times. Add your address (optional) opens a window for your street, postcode and city.
Floor map
Pick a room size: Café, Bistro, Restaurant or Large room. Your floor map is drawn at once, with Square or Round tables, and Rearrange sets the same tables out another way.
To choose how many tables of each size, open Fine-tune the tables. Next step saves the tables where they stand, numbered from 1; you can move any of them later.
Your plan
Press the button on the plan you want. Your booking page opens straight away. On Free, that is all. On Starter or Pro, the page opens on Free and we switch your plan on for you, usually within a day, then email you; the last screen says so, and adds: We confirm the details with you before anything is charged.
For several restaurants, Enterprise is agreed with us rather than chosen here: press its Talk to us button to reach us, or Ask for Pro to open on Free today while we switch Pro on.
The last screen
It hands you two things to keep: Your page, the address to give your guests, and Your button, the code for a booking button on your website, with Copy. Then press Open the office.
The browser you signed up on is now your first office device, named This browser.
Change it later
- The name, the country and the time zone: Settings › General.
- The hours: Settings › Services.
- The address: Your page › Find us.
- The tables: Settings › Floor.
- The plan: Settings › Plan.
- The device’s name: Settings › Devices.
- The password: Forgotten your password? on the sign-in screen.
Good to know
- Skip for now moves on without saving that step. Your page takes no booking until it has hours and tables: Go live with your page shows what is left.
- Closed the sign-up before choosing a plan? Open it again in the same browser and sign in: it picks up at the first step with nothing saved.
- Sign up in the language your restaurant works in. Its default language, and the names of its first room and services, are taken from the sign-up’s language, which you choose on the first step only.
- One login holds one restaurant account. To add a second restaurant, use Add a restaurant in Settings › Restaurants, on Enterprise; do not sign up again.
