What a restaurant keeps

When you book, the restaurant keeps your name, email and phone number, the booking itself, and whatever you chose to add: a request, your allergies, and a rating after your visit. You are never asked for a card, a postal address or a date of birth.

All of it sits in that restaurant’s own guest book. A restaurant under another owner never sees it; restaurants under the same owner share one book.

Your details are used for mail about your own booking: the confirmation, any change or cancellation, the reminder, waiting-list mail if you join a list and, at some restaurants, a message the team writes to you about your booking. Nothing is sold or used to advertise.

How long it is kept

Twenty-four months after your last visit, if you have no guest account and nothing booked ahead, your email address, phone number and allergies are removed. The history of your visits stays.

If you have a guest account, your contact details are not removed on that schedule: closing the account is your choice.

News and reminders

The tick for news from the restaurant is optional, and your booking never depends on it. ResOlio itself sends you no news and no advertising.

Every reminder ends with Unsubscribe with one click. It stops that restaurant’s reminders, even ones already on their way, and withdraws your agreement to its news; your confirmations and cancellations still arrive. Table alerts have their own Stop table alerts link, which covers every restaurant of the same owner.

A copy of your data, or erasing it

Your details are in the restaurant’s guest book, so ask the restaurant first: its team can give you a copy of your record and erase it.

An erasure removes your name, email, phone number, allergies, the team’s notes and anything you typed, and cancels your upcoming bookings, waiting-list places and table alerts at every restaurant of that owner. The date, time and size of each past booking stay.

You can also write to hello@resolio.app. Give the restaurant’s name, the email or phone number you booked with, and the booking reference from your confirmation email.

Your guest account

A guest account is optional and separate from any restaurant’s guest book. Closing it clears your name and phone number, your allergies and seating preference, your favourite restaurants and your login, and unlinks every booking from you. Each restaurant keeps its own record of your visits.

Good to know

  • Booking sets no cookie and no tracker. The form keeps a random number in your browser, per restaurant, so a held table stays held and your confirmation survives a reload in that tab. The restaurant’s own website cannot read it.
  • The full list of what a booking stores is on the privacy page, which the form links beside the consent tick.
