Add your tables
- On a device in Office mode, open Settings › Floor.
- Under Areas, type a name in New area — Terrace, say — and press Add. A new restaurant already has one area to start from.
- Under Tables, choose the Area, type the table’s Name and its Seats, and press Add table.
- Do the same for every table, then press Lay out the room at the top of the page to place them on the floor map.
Areas and floors
An area is a part of the room you seat people in: a terrace, the dining room, upstairs. Every table belongs to one. Rename on an area also sets the Name guests see in English, French and Arabic; staff always see the area’s own name.
Floors is only for a restaurant on more than one floor. Add a second floor creates one; each floor gets a floor map of its own, and each area then has a Floor choice. Areas on the same floor share one map.
Tables
Each table has a Name, an Area, its Seats from 1 to 50, and an optional Smallest party, which keeps a couple off a table for six. Two live tables cannot share a name. A number is saved when you leave its box.
Fill order is First, Normal or Last. With My own order first chosen in General, a First table is given before any other; otherwise the mark only decides between tables that fit a party equally well.
The ⋯ menu on a row has Rename, Add a note — a note for staff, never shown to guests — and Archive. A table’s attributes fold out under its name.
Seats at the bar
Add a bar builds a counter and its seats. Each seat is a table for one, so a solo guest can be given the bar instead of a two-top, and neighbouring seats are offered together, up to four at a time.
The sheet asks: Where it stands, How many seats (up to sixteen), What the seats are called and Which side the seats are on. Take bar bookings online is off unless you turn it on. Then press Add the bar.
On the bar’s row, Online decides whether guests can book its seats on your booking page; Stands in puts it inside another room; Remove this bar removes the bar, its seats and its counter together.
Tables that push together
Combinations are tables pushed together for a larger party and offered as one table. Press Add a combination, give it a Name, tap at least two tables under Tables in it, and press Create.
A new combination seats its tables added up. Press Seats on its row to change that: more than its largest table on its own, and no more than the total. It can be booked only while every one of its tables is free. The bar’s own combinations are made for you and fold into one line per bar.
What guests can ask for
Attributes are what a guest can ask a table for: step-free access, a wheelchair space, outdoors, a window, a quiet corner and more. Tick Guests can ask for it for each one you offer.
Then give every table its answers: open the attributes under the table’s name and choose Yes, No or Not set. Each attribute’s row counts the tables in each answer, and for access questions such as step-free, Coverage shows how much of the room has one.
Archiving
Archive takes an area, a table or a combination off sale. It stays in the history, and there is no button to bring it back. First a dialog lists the upcoming bookings on it: they stay, for you to move, and you tick I have seen the bookings this affects. to go on. Live holds are released.
An area cannot be archived while tables are still in it, and the last table of an area cannot be archived either. To empty an area, change each table’s Area first. A combination left with fewer than two tables is archived with them.
Good to know
- This screen has no save bar: a number is saved when you leave its box, everything else as soon as you choose it.
- Once Guests can ask for it is ticked for an attribute, a table left Not set is read as no for it, so it is not given to a guest who asks for that.
- A table that is not on the floor map still takes bookings; it is only not drawn in the room.
