Add a restaurant

  1. On an Office tablet, open Settings › Restaurants.
  2. Press Add a restaurant.
  3. Type its Name and choose its Time zone.
  4. Press Create it. It gets its own tables, services, devices and booking page, on the same account and the same login.

Then switch to it and set it up as you did the first: its floor, its services and its hours.

Which plans run more than one

Enterprise runs as many restaurants as you have. Free, Starter and Pro run one. At your plan’s limit, Add a restaurant is greyed, with how many restaurants your plan includes and See the plans.

What the list shows

Each row shows a restaurant’s Name, Web address, Time zone and Status. You are here marks the one the office is showing. The status says:

  • Taking bookings: its page takes bookings.
  • No table to book online or No service set yet: its page is up, but cannot offer a table until you add tables or set a service.
  • Not open yet or Paused: the plan is not live, so no restaurant on the account takes bookings.
  • Archived: you closed it, and it is gone from every page your guests see.

Switch to another restaurant

Press Switch to it on its row. The whole office moves to that restaurant. A tablet is named separately at each restaurant, so if this one has never been used there, you are asked to set it up first: press Set this device up, name it and choose its mode.

The restaurant menu at the foot of the rail switches too, and on Enterprise so does Your restaurants.

Rename a restaurant or change its address

A restaurant’s name is changed in Settings › General, under Name, while you are in that restaurant.

When more than one restaurant is open, the one you are in has Change its address: the word in its booking page address that tells your restaurants apart. Links to the old address keep working, but only one old address is kept, so a second change retires the first.

Archive a restaurant

  1. Switch to the restaurant you want to close, then open Settings › Restaurants.
  2. Press Archive on its row.
  3. The dialog says how many upcoming bookings stay on the books, and how many tables held for guests in the middle of booking are released. Press Archive the restaurant, or Keep it open.

Its page goes dark at once and it stops taking bookings. Its upcoming bookings stay for you to cancel or move, and its history and your access to it stay too.

Reopen a restaurant

Archived restaurants are listed under Closed in the restaurant menu at the foot of the rail. Switch to one, open Settings › Restaurants and press Reopen it. It comes back as it was, as long as your plan has room for another open restaurant.

Good to know

  • While a restaurant is archived, the private links your guests were sent to change or cancel their booking stop working. Call the guests whose bookings you keep.
  • The last open restaurant cannot be archived. On a plan with one restaurant the screen says: Get in touch to close the account. On Enterprise: Add another restaurant first.
  • Archiving deletes nothing, and nothing in the office deletes a restaurant.
  • The plan belongs to the account: pausing it, or moving to another plan, changes every restaurant on it.
