Add a question

  1. In Your page, open House rules. Your questions is under the house rules.
  2. Press Add a question and write the question as guests will read it.
  3. Under Answer, choose Short answer, Yes or no or One choice from a list. For a list, write each choice; Add a choice adds one.
  4. Tick Required if a guest must answer to book.
  5. Press Save questions, then turn on Ask my questions when guests book.

Up to five questions are asked at a time, in the order you set with the arrows.

In every language of your page

With more than one language, Writing in chooses the language you are writing in. A question left empty in a language is shown in your page’s main language, and the main language is required.

What guests see

The questions are asked on your booking page and your embed, under the guest’s details. A required question carries a red asterisk, and the booking is not made until it is answered.

A booking made on WhatsApp with Olio, by your team or by phone is not asked them. Your team can fill the answers in on the booking.

Where you read the answers

  • On the booking, under the guest’s request, where your team can change them.
  • On the service screen, on the booking’s line.
  • In the guest’s confirmation email.

Take a question off the form

Press Archive, then Save questions. The question stops being asked, and what guests already answered stays on their bookings. Put back brings it back.

Turn your questions on

Your questions are off until you turn on Ask my questions when guests book: they are kept, and guests don’t see them on the page or the embed until then. Turn it off to stop asking them for a while; they stay as they are.

Ask Olio

In the dashboard, Olio can add a question, change its words, its answers or whether it is required, move it, archive it or put it back, and turn the questions off or on. Each change is a card you tap, with Undo.

Good to know

  • The questions are part of Pro and Enterprise. On another plan the form asks none, and the questions you wrote are kept for when the plan comes back.
  • Answers are the guest’s: they are erased with the guest and included in an export of their data.
  • Do not ask for allergies here: the booking form has its own allergy and diet field, which reaches your service screen on every plan.
