Sign in a new tablet
- On the tablet, open the ResOlio website and press Sign in.
- On Sign in to the office, sign in with your restaurant’s login: the email and password you chose when you signed up.
- The tablet asks to be named: Name this device. If you run more than one restaurant, choose the one it stands in under Restaurant.
- Under Device name, tap a suggestion such as Host stand, or type your own name.
- Under What this tablet is for, choose Service or Office.
- Press Register this device. The office opens, and the tablet keeps its name.
Service or office
A Service tablet runs tonight: the service screen, the bookings, the tables and the waiting list. It has no settings, so nothing can be changed by accident in the middle of service.
An Office tablet has everything: the service screen, and also the settings, the floor map editor, the plan and the list of devices. Give this mode to the laptop or tablet the owner or the manager uses.
You can change a tablet’s name and mode later, from an office tablet, in Settings › Devices.
A tablet you have used before
If the tablet’s browser data was cleared, it asks to be named again, and first asks Is this one of these tablets? Pick its old name to give it back its name, its mode and its history, without adding a new tablet to your list. If it really is a new tablet, press This is a new tablet.
How many tablets
On Free, your login can be signed in on 2 tablets. Starter, Pro and Enterprise have no limit on tablets.
When every tablet your plan includes is in use, a new one is refused with this message: Your plan’s tablets are all in use. Take over one of your existing tablets, or sign one out in Settings › Devices.
Good to know
- Name the first tablet Office. Only an office tablet can open Settings › Devices, so a restaurant whose only tablet is in Service mode has to sign in another device as an office one to change anything.
- If the name you type is already on another tablet at this restaurant, a number is added to it rather than the name being refused.
- Everyone uses the same login. Staff do not get accounts of their own: they pick up a tablet that is already signed in.
