Write your house rules

  1. In Your page, open House rules.
  2. Under What you ask of guests, write your rules: a dress code, how long you hold a table, allergies to mention when they book. A counter beside the box shows how full it is.
  3. Press Save your page.

Where guests read them

  • On your page, in a House rules section, with a link to it across the top of the page.
  • In the booking form: before confirming, a guest is asked to agree to your house rules. In the window your button opens on your website, the rules are printed in full.
  • On the page where a guest manages their booking.

With the box empty, none of this appears, and guests are not asked to agree to anything.

Cancelling and changing are not typed

Under Cancelling and changing, the screen shows the sentence guests read about cancelling and changing, with a link to Settings › General. It is written from your settings, not typed, so your page never promises more than the system allows.

The rules themselves are under What guests may do themselves in Settings › General: Guests may cancel online and Guest cancel cutoff (min), Guests may change their booking online and Guest change cutoff (min), Guest changes per booking, and Guests may add people when changing.

Guests read the result in the booking form and on their booking's own page, which also tells them when it is too late to cancel online, with your phone number if your page has one.

Good to know

  • Write the rules in every language your page offers: the box follows the language chosen at the top of Content, and an empty French or Arabic box shows the English.
  • Typing a deadline in the house rules does not change it: only Settings › General does. Leave deadlines out of the box, so the two never disagree.
