Getting on the list
When nothing is free today for your party and the restaurant is still serving and taking bookings online, its booking page may offer Join today's waiting list. Enter your name, email and phone number, then press Join the list.
At the restaurant, the team can also add you to the list at the door.
Either way, an email confirms your place with See your place in the queue, which opens your own page in the queue. The link is private to your place: don’t forward it.
What the page shows
Your place in the queue shows your number and how many parties are ahead of you, and refreshes itself every half minute.
It never gives a wait time, because the wait changes with every table. You are emailed when a table is offered to you.
Parties are taken in the order they joined, and the team can change that order. A table that frees up goes to the first party it suits, so a smaller party behind you may be seated first.
When your table is ready
The page shows Your table is ready — come to the host stand. An email tells you too. The table is held for a few minutes, as the restaurant sets it, and the page counts them down.
Press I'm on my way to tell the team you are coming. It also adds five minutes to the hold, once.
If you do not come in time, the table goes to the next party and you keep your place. After a third table you did not take up, you leave the list.
Leaving the list
- Press Leave the list on your page, or Give up my place in the email.
- Confirm with Leave the list, or press Keep it to stay.
Your place is then lost, and a table held for you goes to the next party. If it is the restaurant that takes you off the list, your page says so.
Good to know
- A place on the list is for that day only.
- For a table on another day, ask to be told when one opens: see table alerts.
