The office and its screens

  • The office: the staff side of ResOlio, where the night is run and the settings are kept, signed in with the restaurant’s one login.
  • Service: tonight’s screen, on three tabs: Guestlist, Floor map and Calendar.
  • Guestlist: the night’s bookings as a list.
  • Floor map: your room as you drew it, each table where it stands, with who is at it.
  • Calendar: the night as a grid of tables and times; the empty cells are what you can still book.
  • Your page: your booking page, the public page guests book on. Your button opens it from your own website.

Guests and lists

  • Walk-in: a guest who arrives without a booking, seated at once or put on the waiting list.
  • Waiting list: the guests waiting for a table, at the door or online, shown under Floor map and Calendar. On Pro.
  • Table alert: a guest’s request to be told when a table opens at a time that was full. It is part of the waiting list.
  • Guests: the guest book, every guest’s record with their visits, allergies, your notes and their tags. On Pro.
  • Regular: a guest who has sat with you three times.
  • Allergies and dietary needs: what a guest cannot eat, given when they book and shown with the booking.

Numbers

  • Covers: the people served. A party of four is four covers.
  • Party: the people on one booking.
  • Turn time: how long a table is held for a party, set for each service and by party size.
  • Insights: your numbers, from covers and where bookings came from to your busiest days and hours.
  • Turned away: on Pro, the guests who tried to book and could not, with the reason.
  • Pacing: on Pro, how many guests may arrive in each fifteen minutes, so the door and the kitchen are never flooded.

Days and hours

  • Service: a stretch of opening hours you take bookings for, such as lunch or dinner.
  • Special days: the dates that differ from your usual week: closed, open on other hours, or with online booking off.
  • Tonight: the business day you are serving, which runs until your restaurant’s own cut-over time, past midnight.
  • Lead time: how close to a sitting a guest can still book online. Your staff can still book after it.
  • Sitting: a party’s time at the table.

The booking statuses

A booking moves through these as the night goes on (see the booking statuses):

  • Booked: taken, and waiting for its sitting.
  • Confirmed: the guest or your staff confirmed it again.
  • Arrived: the party is here, not yet at a table.
  • Seated: at the table.
  • Finished: the sitting is over and the table is free again.
  • Cancelled: cancelled by the guest, by you or by the system.
  • No-show: the party never came, as marked by your staff.

Your account and tablets

  • Your restaurant’s login: the one email and password everyone at the restaurant signs in with. Staff have no accounts of their own.
  • Office and Service: a tablet’s two modes. Service runs tonight and cannot open the settings; Office opens everything.
  • Revoke: signing one tablet out for good, from Settings › Devices.
  • Activity: the restaurant’s feed of what happened; read and unread are kept per tablet.
  • Plan: what your restaurant is on: Free, Starter, Pro or Enterprise.
  • Page not live: your public page is not taking bookings — until you go live, while the plan is paused, or while it has no table or no service to offer.
