Change the rules and publish

  1. On a device in Office mode, open Settings › Availability.
  2. Change what you need in the four parts: Channels, Periods, Turnaround and Late arrivals.
  3. Press Publish. Guests are offered the new rules from then on.
  4. To finish later, press Save draft instead. A draft changes nothing for guests, and every office device sees the same one.

Who can book which table

With no rules, every table can be booked on every channel: Online, Phone & host and Walk-in. To change that, under Add a rule for pick Every table, an area, a table or a combination; under When pick Whole day or one sitting; press Add the rule, then switch channels off on its row.

The most specific rule wins: a table’s rule beats its area’s, which beats Every table, and a rule for one sitting beats one for the whole day. A combination can be booked on a channel only if each of its tables can.

Sittings inside a service

Periods split a service into up to three sittings — Early sitting, Middle sitting and Late sitting — each with From, To and, if it needs one, its own Turn (minutes): an early sitting that must be off the table by eight, a late one that need not. Press Add a period beside the service’s name. Leave the turn empty to use the service’s own; a start outside every sitting uses it too.

The gap between sittings

Turnaround is the minutes a table is kept free between two sittings to clear and lay it, from 0 to 120. Set it for Every area, and for any area that needs a different gap; an area left blank uses the Every area value.

Late arrivals

Late arrivals decides what a party seated late gets. Keep the booked end: the table is needed when it always was, so a party twenty minutes late has twenty minutes less. Keep the full sitting: the party gets a whole sitting from when it sits down, unless the next party has that table — then the booked end is kept and the floor is told.

Drafts, publishing and history

The screen checks the plan as you type and lists anything that would stop it being published, each problem also said under its box. Publish the saved draft publishes the draft saved earlier; Discard draft deletes it and leaves what is live untouched.

What changed lists every publish: the version, when, which device, and which of the four parts changed.

Where the other booking rules are

How far ahead guests can book, the lead time, party sizes and what guests may change or cancel themselves are in the general settings. Each service sets its own hours, turn time and lead time in Services.

Good to know

  • The Online switch of a bar, in Floor, writes a channel rule here and publishes it straight away.
  • A draft that is older than what is live says so: publishing it would undo anything changed since. Discard it and start again from what is live.
  • If a sitting or a gap still names a service or an area that has gone, it is shown with a button to remove it, and the plan cannot be published until you do.
